RBSK - Shija Children Heart Beat (3^rd Phase)
Imphal, January 9, 2018: RBSK - Shija Children Heart Beat (3^rd Phase) was conducted successfully with 7(seven) device closures. In the 1^st Phase, we had performed 11 device closures on 10 patients and in the 2^nd Phase, we had performed 14 device closures. Altogether, we had performed 32 device closures in 3 phases, which are sponsored by RBSK and partial contribution by the patients.

A large PDA device closure was successful performed yesterday i.e, 08.01.2018 on 3 months old child weighing only 5 kilos from Singjamei Waikhom Leikai, Imphal West for the first time in Manipur. The child was presented with a problem of PDA & broncho pneumonia and was admitted on 25.12.2017 at NICU, Shija Hospitals for further treatment. After non operative closure of holes in the heart of the child, the child may be discharge after 2 days as the condition of the child is improving.

The RBSK - Shija Children Heart Beat (4th Phase) will be held from 9^th February to 13^th February 2018. Children born with holes in the heart may contact Dr. Lukram Sidartha, Consultant Cardio Thoracic & Vascular Surgeon, Shija Heart Beat from 10 AM to 1 PM on all days except Sunday on or before 9^th February 2018 for necessary screening and advance registration.
